Tick Tock

Today I engaged in two main activities, sorting out clothes that my ever growing children can no longer fit and helping Little L and Little S to fill out their birthday invites.

My babies are turning 4 in a couple of weeks and I am so not ready! This year they wanted separate invites (Princesses and Spiderman) and wanted to be able to give them to people themselves. They have taken great pride in deciding on the friends to invite, making their lists and hand delivering the invites either to the person or the mail man. It has also been the first time they have insisted on not being treated as 'one'. And even though it was one of my main aims from the start to encourage their individuality, I feel a bit sad. They are just growing up so fast.

Just look at these delicious bundles I brought home! This is the only way they would sleep for months and I am pleased that they still love each other this much.

Big L on the other hand is not slowing down either. Almost through his first year at school, I cannot believe how much he has learned in a year! He is finding things that he is good at and loves, gymnastics for one, he is a real monkey! And most noticeably has been the physical changes. His feet are huge, arms and legs dangly, and his shoulders just that bit broader. Where has this year gone!?

He was my first baby love, picture perfect and the start of a great adventure.

I have a heavy heart tonight, time is moving so fast. But I am also incredibly proud. This photo represents both the hardest thing I have ever done and the very best thing I have ever done. I am just so lucky to be on this ride.

Birthday Celebrations :)

Two Years

They made it
   We made it

Definitely reason to celebrate :)

With Little S and Little L's first birthday I thought I would feel a huge sense of relief that we had survived a year, but due to various reasons I didnt feel like that in the slightest. The Second Birthday however was a different story, it was so much more than a sense of relief - it was really FUN!

Two is really such a fabulous age :) Everything is exciting! They have no preconceived notions of what a 'good' birthday should be like so anything is just a BIG treat. They loved having their family and friends together, mixed with a bit of sugar. Big L was the model of a gracious older brother- sweet boy he is :)
And we felt so blessed:
To have such amazing kids
To have been able to get through the past two years together
To have such great support
To have family and friends who love our kids

I am really looking forward to this next year!

The saying that good friends are hard to find is just not that true for me... I have a goody just across the road! After a long week with Little L recovering our household (mostly me) was starting to feel a wee bit fragile. So when my Bestie popped over and asked if she could take Little S and Big L on a Bush walk I jumped at the opportunity! They had a fabulous time and returned Very ready for a snooze- Bliss!

Little L and I on the other hand took the opportunity to me:walk/him:being pushed on the trike down to the supermarket for a couple of things. It has been the easiest to keep him happy like this- using distraction. It was a slow walk because he wanted to hop off constantly and pick me flowers- something I can live with :)

I have had so many offers for play dates since the arrival of the twins yet have never taken anyone up on the offer until now. I should trust people mean it when they offer.

Feeling very blessed.
